Michael Douglas shared with us details of his '95 GMC C1500 with a 4L60E controlled by HGM's COMPUSHIFT Sport Transmission Controller.
Michael purchased the truck from his previous employer back in the early 2000's. He used it as his company work truck for 20 years on and off. He then decided it was time to honor all its hard work with new parts and a new look. He had a professional shop help him do the heavy work but has since done everything himself.
The truck now has a new ZZ6 crate motor, is fuel injected with the Pro Flo 4 system from Edelbrock which CAN buses perfectly to the HGM controller running a 4L60E built Gearstar Level 4 Transmission. There are several Sonax additions inside as well. It has a new Eaton TruTrack limited slip with a 3.73 geared rear end with Moser axles and four wheel 14" Wilwood disc brakes.
There is a QA1 coil over suspension in the front and QA1 pistons in the back. It has an Aeromotive fuel system, new fuel lines and regulator. It has dual Derale electric radiator fans and a rear mounted electric fan Derale transmission cooler. With all the fans he had to increase it to a 200 amp at idle PurePower alternator and new 4GA.
All of this was hooked up with American Autowire's 8 relay severe duty fuse and relay box. Michael gutted the interior and installed vibration mat and a Second Skin luxury liner pro sound deadening material.
The truck still needs a re-paint and some body and interior work finished off as well. In the future he would like to add either dual Borg Warner turbos or a Pro Charger supercharger. At the moment this is Michael's weekend truck which may occasionally see a track or two.
Michael says that he would "absolutely recommend HGM controllers to anyone building their own projects as it makes everything quick and easy." In particular one thing he likes about the HGM controller is that "at the touch of a finger I can simply go to more aggressive shifting or dial it down for a more street-able tune."
Thanks to Michael for sharing his ride.
